Black and white photograph glued to grey mat (removed from frame, discarded) photograph 5.5 X 3.75" is portrait of Chinese man wearing glasses in formal suit, white shirt and bow tie. He has a metal button on chest engraved with Chinese characters. Grey mat has embossed border around photo and studio name "Brown 227 1/2 Wash St. Portland Or." impressed into bottom of mat. On both sides are Chinese characters written in black ink giving name, and his status as founder of family or regional association. It appears he is an academic.
