Description

The Quong Tuck Company, an import-export business, was started in Seattle in 1884 by the legenday Chin Gee Hee, who contacted labor for railroads and canneries and returned home to China to build a railroads and canneries and returned home to China to build a railroad in Toisan County. Pictured in front of the business is Mun Poy Woo, a grand nephew of Chin. The business was reopened as a restaurant in 1977 by Dan Woo, Lun Poy's younger brother. The chinese characters in the sign above are Quong Tuck, meaning "Broad Virtue."
