Black and White photograph. Second from left, Sawa Beppu; fourth from left, Hitsuji Beppu, at the Japanese Language School. Hitsuji taught Japanese singing. Sawa was one of a group of close knit Japanese midwives who served the community delivering babies and giving post-natal care to mothers. Sawa was one of the first women licensed to drive in Washington State.
