Shigeko's parents were forced to sell their business, White River Dairy, a dairy-processing plant at 8th and Weller, before they were incarcerated at Minidoka. After the war, Shigeko and Masaru opened Chick's Ice Creamery in the Bush Hotel on South Jackson St.
