Back row from left: Mayko, Haruo, Akira, Mariko. The Kumasakas had a small truck farm and greenhouse in the Greenlake area. They sold vegetables and flowers at the Pike Place Market from 1911 to the 1920s, then had a wholesale floral and produce business on Western Ave. When the Furuya Co. went bankrupt and reorganized just before WWII, Shoji Kumasaka became president of the company.
