Wood frame with painted lacquer scene of scholars at leisure. Said to originally hold an embroidery. Modern mirror. Brass hangers with a "Shw" design at top. Owner's attrib: 1790's. De Young Museum: Turn of the Century Chipping and flaking on edges. Bumped corners. Bought by donors in 1935 from the Oppenheimer estate in Santa Barbara CA.
