Shield

Wood shield with carving and woven ornament. Shield is carved from one piece of wood and stained with black although the lighter wood shows through in several spots. Shield is in form of long rectangle with cut-out sections at both top and bottom. The center bulges forward over a carved bar in the center back with place for hand to grasp it. This "bulge" is carved with linear designs. Two bands of woven designs about 1" wide ornament above and below center panel.
