Gouache painting on silk of a young Japanese woman in a bridal robe Painting shows head and upper torso. Bride wears a headdress of pinkish white with combs flower ornaments and a crane in her black upswept hair. Her uchikake robe is white with a bold red design punctuated with white flowers. The inner robe nearest here throat has a water motif. A yellow purse with purple leaves and an orange floral design is partially tucked into her kimono and she carries a fan. Background of graduating ivory gray and pink. Black ink calligraphy and red ink seal at the bottom right corner. Originally stored in a paper folder.
