This material is a cloth from the bolt. The top and bottom of the piece are left unhemmed. The motif is a collage of patterns. The designs is all machine printed. Colors are forest green pale green beige taupe brown black and white. The motif represents a patchwork of patterns - one of shibori another of a wax resist look with plum blossoms in black. another of old chinese characoters Kikkoman motif an abstract pattern of flecks of color etc. Scatterd on this patchwork are sporadic stylized representations of open books with immages of nature in beige white brown and black. Scenes represented on these books are a bamboo stand willow trees a mountain and sea scene iris and other scenes. The piece has no visible flaws.
