Description

These pair of tabi are red with a thin white cotton lining . The bottoms are in a rugged cotton canvas weave with a paper lining wrapped in flannel. The outer cloth is of smooth flat weave. The inner heel portions are fastened by a system of hook and eyelet. The inner flap has a series of parallel cotton cords stitched along the vertical edge with portions left unstitched to accommodate thin metal hook plates. These tabi have never been used. A piece of paper is wrapped around the pair to hold them together. A picture on an attached piece of papaer has a picture of a MAIKO dancing. She wears a red kimono with black obi and red hairpiece. The card says "Geisha Girl brand tabi" Underneath in Japanese the card says Lion brand. 100% cotton. Made in Japan. A strip of paper notes that the tabi are 9" and are made in Japan. The tabi are wrapped in its origianl plastic wrap. These tabi are most likely sold for tourists or were produced for export.
