Chest of Drawers made in Japanese American internment camp Wood from fruit crates and scrap lumber 4 drawers with horizontal wooden knobs screwed on top made of a wide and narrow plank back made of 5 horizontal planks of various sizes base is a rectangular frame of horizontal planks set out from body at sides with a cut out design of double sword shape double walled sides are reinforced with a frame in a rectangle and cross shape as a decorative element interior sides rails for drawers each drawer has two vertical wooden bars inside front joints except bottom drawer E which has 4 vertical supports composed of a number of types of wood fruit crate slats for bottom (upper drawer B has loose slats) Drawer C has the remains of a white sticker with black lettering on its interior left side which is only partially legible and appears to refer to a Swift and Company meat product. The exterior top sides and front of the chest have been stained reddish brown and varnished.
