Description

Decorative mask Kagura Porcelain mask has an orange face gold eyes and teeth. Wrinkles from frown in dark brown. Long white hair parted in the center and tied at ears. The mask is attached to a diamond shaped wooden board with an orange cord. White character at the top of the board: "Kaikun" - Better Fortune - Better Luck. At the bottom the character: "Miyazaki" - the name of the prefecture the mask is from. The mask is representative of those worn for the Kagura dance a Shinto dance celebrating the birth of Japan at Takachiho where Amaterasu Oomikami decended to.
