Beverages Exhibit Oral History Interview Carmel Laurino has reconnected deeply with her country of origin, the Philippiines, by building a company dedicated to the cultivation of Philippine coffee and the communities that grow it. As a college student she was inspired by a photo from the early twentieth century of coffee selling Filipino farmers at Seattle's Pike Place Market and charted her own course to bring coffee from the Philippines back to America. She views coffee as an important commodity that not only brings pleasure to its drinkers but also creates connections across the globe from grower to consumer.
