Subject
Oral History Interview
Description
Mozhdeh Oskouian was born in Tehran in 1966. Her father was in the Shah's Air Force, but after some persuasion from her mother during the Islamic Revolution, Mozdeh left her home country and immigrated to Seattle. Her asylum lawyer's poor performance inspired Mozhdeh to become a lawyer herself, which she did while simultaneously becoming naturalized and obtaining her green card. She has many anecdotes from her time in the old INS Building and she is currently a lawyer working for the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP).
