Description

A musical instrument essentially a hand-held wind organ. Routeen bamboo tubes joines in two seven-tubesegments with a shared air chamer made of carved wood. Tubes vary in length; 4x 41 1/8" 2 x 29 3/4" 2 x 26 1/2" 2 x 24 7/8" 2 x 23 1/8 2 x 22 1/8. Tubes also vary in diameter from 3/8" (outside) to 1/2" (outside). Length and diameter determime tone. Sound is proveded by a reed in each pipe. Each pipe also has a fingering hold which is essentially an on-off device. The tubes are bound togerher with fiber wrap at two places-20 3/4" and 32 1/2" from the square end of the instrument. The air chamber ( 5 x 2" at the widest point) has an elongated oval shape. One end features an indented moupiece while the other is a decorative carved solid. The air chambeeris secured to the tubes with a black substance; it is 9 1/2" from the square end of the instrument.
