Description

Scabbard (a) is a tapered form of bamboo slats secured at the open end by lacing (bamboo? rattan) and at the bottom or closed end by a hide sheath. The knife (b) has a blade 10 3/4" long fitted into a gently tapered wooden handle 6" . The blade is curved 2 1/8" deep at maximum and 1" where it joins the handle. the handle has a welded matal reinforcing band a juncture of blade and handle. Note: Collected in Laos 1962-1964
