Title

Pedestal

Description

"Lazy Susan"-style wood pedestal used for Ikebana flower arranging. Turned reddish brown wood in two pieces joined with a metal bolt. The top consists of two disks with a spacer between carved in one piece. The very top has a raised rim which hangs down around the sides. The lower disk is wider than the top one. The bottom of the pedestal is carved in a modified cone shape so that the narrow portion is connected to the top with the bolt. The stand has been carved with a recess in the top which holds large ball bearings. The bottom has a hole drilled in the center where the head of the screw runs through a metal disk. The pedestal is designed so that the top can rotate freely. On the bottom is an oval shaped gold colored sticker printed in black with "Genuine Monkey Pod/Handcrafted in the Philippines".
