A couple living in the Chinatown International District who have been long-time advocates and staunch allies of their communities. Yu is a Taiwanese immigrant who settled in Mukilteo, who among many other accomplishments most recently founded Humbows not Hotels, an advocacy group to protest the CID’s rapid gentrification. Danh is a local property manager and historic site preserver, raised in an immigrant family in South Seattle and Kent. This interview is centered on their individual and combined efforts to respond to the community’s needs in this extraordinary time.
