Filipina-American artist and employee of the Wing Luke Museum in Seattle’s Chinatown International District. In this interview, we talk about how her and her family have been influenced by the sudden prevalence of COVID-19, and how this pandemic has affected her health, mentality, and creative expression through art. Artistic creation has always been a large part of Sami’s life, and it is playing a major role in how she is moving through this pandemic. Sami talks about how important community building and relying on inner strength is during this time, as well as finding comfort in mutual understanding and compassion.
